This project focuses on the moment of reveal—capturing a chocolate chip cookie as it breaks apart, exposing molten chocolate, porous crumb and subtle surface detail at close range.
Rather than presenting the cookie as a static object, the visual explores internal behaviour: how baked dough fractures, how chocolate melts and stretches under residual heat, and how crumbs suspend briefly in motion. Every element is designed to feel physically inevitable, not staged.
The result is a hyper real food visual that communicates warmth, indulgence and quality through material truth rather than stylised exaggeration—engineered to hold up at macro scale.
The brief was to produce a hyper real CGI food visual that prioritised internal realism over surface polish.
Key objectives included:
• Accurately representing cookie crumb structure and bake irregularity
• Visualising molten chocolate with believable viscosity and pull
• Ensuring natural break behaviour rather than clean or decorative splits
• Maintaining control and clarity in a dynamic composition
• Delivering imagery suitable for premium FMCG branding and campaign use
The challenge was to allow indulgence to emerge through realism—letting texture, heat and structure communicate desirability without over dramatization.
Production began with a high‑resolution cookie model built around internal topology rather than exterior form alone. The mesh was designed to fracture naturally, exposing porous crumb patterns and embedded chocolate pieces exactly where they would appear in reality.
Material development focused heavily on contrast and interaction:
Lighting was intentionally minimal and directional, revealing depth and gloss within the chocolate while preserving the matte warmth of the cookie. Secondary crumb fragments were introduced sparingly to reinforce motion without visual noise.
The close‑range framing places zero margin for error—every pore, edge and reflection is crafted to withstand scrutiny.
The final visuals deliver a hero‑level CGI asset optimised for macro storytelling, where realism defines quality and trust.
The imagery is ideal for:
As a fully realised CGI system, the asset can be extended into:
This ensures the visual investment remains scalable, reusable and consistently premium across future use cases.
The Hyper‑Realistic Cookie Visualisation demonstrates how CGI can move beyond surface appeal to communicate how food behaves, not just how it looks.
By engineering realism at the structural level—crumb, melt, break and flow—the project proves that the most compelling indulgence is the kind that feels physically believable.
